Multilingual? Not as good as in the demo video...

According to your promotional copy and videos, it has "Foreign Language Capabilities," and you even provide samples in English and French. The thing is, I speak neither English nor French, so I tested it with German. And what I got was a st(r)eaming pile of Scheiße where not a single letter was correct.

Thanks for trying it out and for the feedback!

To clarify:
• The model was trained mainly on Chinese and English, with only a tiny fraction of other languages in the data. So we only expect it to work reliably in Chinese and English.
• The French sample in the video was just to show that the model can occasionally produce short foreign-language output, but it’s not a guaranteed feature. It was meant as an example of generalization, though feedback shows even French quality isn’t very strong.
• For languages like German, the model has basically seen no data at all, so the output will almost always be garbled — that’s exactly what you observed.

We’ll make the README and docs clearer so people don’t expect full multilingual support.

Sorry for the confusion!
