Updated model should have a new version number
Thanks a lot for open-sourcing Phi-3, and for the recent update. It's really amazing to be able to use such SOTA models under a MIT license!
However, the update model should have gotten a new version number (and probably a new repo). Call it Phi-3.1-mini, Phi-3-mini-v2, Phi-3-mini-2407 or whatever, but something to clearly distinguish it from the original model.
This is important for various reasons: The ability to compare side by side, historical prevalence, avoiding regressions, the ability to roll back easily, etc.
Yup - provenance, version pinning... all good reasons to clearly label release versions. (For instance, I've noted that the GGUF repo for the same model does not yet contain the updated version).
Especially when the score increases by such a massive amount!! I'll be releasing the GGUF as Phi 3.1 and pointing it here, but yeah would be way better for them to do it...
