This 128k model is about 10x to 15x slower than MiniCPM-2B-dpo-fp32, like 7sec vs 90sec?
I ran both models on RTX3090 so I don't think it's VRAM issue.
Both models generate similar length text, the 128k model one is a bit longer but not much.

I post in discussion as well. I just test it using text-generation with a manually created chatml context, and find that this 128K version refuses to write <|im_end|>. So it will keep occupying VRAM and keep inferencing. And your 90sec inference time is likely that the model reaches the max_new_token set in your inference framework.
Seems switching to chatml brings openbmb a big issue.
